Applications Open for NSF I-Corps Fall Regional, Aimed at Commercializing Technology Ideas, at UT

Applications are open for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps) fall 2021 regional workshop series at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The kick-off program will be held October 15, and the closing workshop will be November 5 in the Haslam College of Business, HBB 401. In between, participants will conduct customer discovery interviews with two scheduled coaching sessions.

Each fall, Pamela Sanchez welcomes a special group of students to the Haslam College of Business. As coordinator for retention and education in the Haslam Office of Diversity and Community Relations, Sanchez coordinates TakeOff, Haslam’s yearlong program for first-generation college students.

The program is geared toward students who are the first in their family to attend college, providing extra development and leadership opportunities to help students acclimate to the University of Tennessee and Haslam.

Get to Know the LGBTQ+ Association of Business Scholars

The LGBTQ+ Association of Business Scholars (LABS) is a new group that aims to provide community and resources for LGBTQIA+ students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business. Organization president Avery Vantrease, a senior majoring in supply chain management, answered some questions about the organization’s mission and plans.
