Women Empowered through Business (WEB) Institute

Women Empowered Through Business (WEB) Institute is a six-day summer program designed to introduce under-represented rising female high school juniors to the fields of technology and the intersection of tech and business. During the six-day sessions, students attend workshops that expose them to women leading in the fields of technology and business, coding, computer technology, entrepreneurship, personal branding, supply chain management, business analytics and professional development taught by university faculty and staff. Students also interact with one another through team building sessions, engage in college readiness workshops and learn from professionals in the field of business through sessions with industry leaders.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students learn about the field of business, emphasizing information management, analytics and coding and technology
  • Students participate in college readiness sessions including, ACT Prep, college classes, campus life and how to apply to college
  • Students learn about dynamic and empowering career paths in business management, analytics, coding & technology
  • Students network with corporate professionals, including Women in Technology and undergraduate women studying business information management, analytics and coding and technology
  • Students participate in team-building opportunities and leadership development
  • Students demonstrate and develop an understanding of professionalism, business etiquette and networking
