Ron D. Ford is a senior-level executive and board member who delivers results across a multitude of corporate functions and performance areas. His experience includes a range of corporate officer roles, including CEO, President, CFO, CIO and board director.
Ford’s lifelong mission is to make a difference by growing a company and developing its people. He believes passionately that the role of a 21st Century leader is to develop people for both corporate competitive advantage and to make the world a better place by enabling individuals to reach their greatest potential. He demonstrates that passion both within organizations and through his own commitment to ethics and excellence.
Ford’s 30-year career has been focused on performance in business-to-business and business-to-consumer products and services. He serves as SVP and CFO of Armstrong Flooring, a NYSE company and previously as SVP and CFO of Silgan Containers, the North America’s largest producer of CPG packaging. Ford served as Chief of Financial Strategy (CFO) for Wells Real Estate Funds and as CEO and President of Media Arts Group, Inc. (NYSE: MDA).
Prior to MDA, Ford served as CFO and then President of OneCoast Network, distributor of global consumer products. Ford’s leadership resulted in unprecedented growth as the company moved from start-up to more than $500M in sales volume prior to its acquisition. Other previous senior-level roles included serving as CFO and CIO of a large printing and publishing company and as Executive Vice President and COO of a private equity firm. Earlier in his career, Ford was a CPA and served six years with two international accounting and consulting firms. Prior, for five years he helped the U.S. Government improve processes to make nuclear weapons.
Ford holds a Doctorate in Executive Management from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee. He serves on the advisory boards of three colleges of business and has served on the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt University. He has served as a faculty member at UCLA and Pepperdine University and, as associate dean, led the school to national ranking for its EMBA program. He was recently named CFO of the year by two publications.
Ford’s civic and community involvement includes: Leadership Atlanta, past president of the American Cancer Society Board in Atlanta, Young Presidents Organization, the downtown Atlanta Rotary Club and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Schools’ Board of Trustees. He served on the boards of ThinkThin, a nutrition company and entertainment company, Quixote/Smashbox. He was appointed by the governor as a commissioner of entertainment and tourism in California and advises the senior leadership of public and private firms on strategy.
