Building Your M&A Team

Course Description

Executive teams often overestimate their ability to successfully navigate a merger or acquisition. A recent McKinsey study found that M&A teams often lack the resources and capacity to successfully integrate their acquisitions. This program focuses specifically on forming a high-performing M&A team by identifying and aligning key business challenges, building an integration roadmap, aligning core capabilities, identifying performance targets and understanding the decision-making process necessary to drive new strategies, organizational structure and culture.

Themes to Explore:

Our facilitators will design a program based on organization-specific M&A activity. The program can focus on a breadth of topics including:

  • Building credibility as an M&A team
  • Creating competitive value through M&A decisions
  • Advocating for M&A strategic priorities
  • Understanding team resourcing and constraints
  • Leading in between the corporate center and business units
  • When to leverage external advisors
