Module 1 - Leadership Essentials for Extraordinary Performance

Course Description

Emerging Leaders Module 1

Like any skill necessary for success, leadership skills require knowledge and practice.  Many managers find themselves thrust into a leadership position without any prior experience or education. This “sink or swim” approach often does not produce good results. An outstanding engineer or sales person is not necessarily an effective leader without proper training and education. This impacts not only the organization but also the individual. The good news is that leadership skills can be taught and learned.

Leadership Essentials for Extraordinary Performance focuses on the science behind successful leadership, communication, understanding generational differences and its impact in the workplace, and leading groups. The LIFO® method is used to help participants understand how people think, how teams work together and how a business operates on a day-to-day basis. A well-considered analysis based on the LIFO ® method unveils opportunities for a better self-management, communication and development.

Key Objectives

  • To build a foundation of personal leadership skills and then put those skills into a practical, real-life context
  • To teach and enable the mindset and skills it takes to create extraordinary performance
  • To translate the latest thinking about how to lead into “Leadership How-To’s” for today’s world and across the generations
  • To develop specific action items to enable extraordinary performance and personal action items for growth
  • To become self-confident in both creating a positive work environment and handling negative situations through practice and coaching
