Module 4 - Finance for Non-Financial Managers

Course Description

Emerging Leaders Module 4

Managers oftentimes are promoted into their position based on their performance as an individual contributor or supervisor.  Many managers do not have business degrees or it’s been some time since they needed to use finance and/or accounting concepts.  Despite this, they are asked to make business decisions that impact the financial health of their organization.

Managers often struggle with understanding how their decisions impact their organization’s financial bottom line.  Leaders across the organization need to understand financial statements, contribution margin, working capital, and cost allocation to ensure that they make informed business decisions.  Finance for Non-Financial Managers uses easy-to-understand examples of typical business decisions and explains how each decision impacts overall company performance. Participants work in teams throughout the two days analyzing business scenarios to optimize financial outcomes.
