Haileab Hilafu is an associate professor of business analytics and statistics in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He teaches business analytics and statistics courses in the undergraduate and MSBA programs. His current research interests are in causal inference and statistical/machine learning, with applications in healthcare and retail operations.

Hilafu’s work has been published in refereed journals such as the Journal of Royal Statistical Society—Series B (JRSSB), Journal of Computation and Graphical Statistics (JCGS), Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM), and the Production and Operations Management (POM).
