Paolo Letizia is an associate professor of operations management and business analytics in the Department of Business Analytics and Statistics of the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research interests lie in the areas of sustainable operations, closed loop supply chain management, operations-marketing interface, and supply chain management.

Letizia’s work has been published in journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, and European Journal of Operational Research. At conferences such as INFORMS, POMS and DSI, he has chaired the track of environmental operations and organized several sessions on sustainable operations. Letizia has been an associate editor for the Decision Sciences journal since 2019 and serves on the editorial review boards of several leading operations management journals.

Prior to joining the University of Tennessee, Letizia taught operations and supply chain management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Letizia holds a master of science in supply chain management from Kedge Business School and a doctorate with dual degrees in operations research and business administration from the Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business. Before starting his academic career, he was employed by the consulting firm Accenture and worked on projects in supply chain management, operations management, and customer relationship management.
