Financial Aid
Students accepted into the program are granted assistantships with an annual stipend that has averaged approximately $28,000 in recent years. All admitted students also receive a tuition waiver and health insurance benefits.
Our assistantships are year-round, 20-hour per week positions. A typical assistantship pairs a doctoral student with one or two faculty members over the course of a semester to assist with research and/or teaching as needed. Research-related tasks include gathering data, assisting with computer code, and summarizing papers. Examples of teaching-related tasks are holding office hours, grading, and record-keeping. Each student will also teach a full-semester course approximately twice during the program. Teaching a course accounts for a portion of the student’s assistantship hours.
