Forecast accuracy has been a persistent source of frustration for supply chain leaders for decades. Despite advances in analytics, planning systems, and S&OP processes, many organizations continue to miss customer service, inventory, and cost targets, then point to the forecast as the root cause. Leaders across functions have come to love to hate the forecast<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn “Love to Hate the Forecast,” researchers from the University of Tennessee\u2019s Global Supply Chain Institute<\/strong> (GSCI) <\/strong>and the Advanced Supply Chain Collaborative<\/strong> (ASCC)<\/strong> challenge the assumption that forecasting should be the default basis for supply chain planning.
