Stephen Alfieri has been named director of operations for Graduate and Executive Education in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He began his new role August 5. Alfieri recently served as the director of regional operations for Wyndham Destinations in Sevierville. In that position, he managed an operations group of 90 team members and a budget of $220M in top-line revenues. Previously, he worked at Dun & Bradstreet for several years as an associate vice president and vice president.
At Haslam, Alfieri will lead the shared services/operations teams; prioritize and execute resource planning and allocation across all GEE programs; serve as the key point of contact for fiscal, operational, technological and human resources management; and provide leadership for all day-to-day activities, matching resource capacity to operational needs.
Bruce Behn, associate dean for graduate and executive education at the college, says Alfieri’s hire is pivotal to better managing GEE’s coordination with Haslam’s other departments and programs, with other parts of the university and with vendors and stakeholders.
“Stephen’s hiring represents a significant addition to the GEE management team’s expertise,” Behn says. “With his extensive background in operations management, Stephen will be the focal point in successfully facilitating GEE’s many programs, project and activities and its interactions with other sections of the college and the university.”
