Big Orange Give

October 24, 2018

On November 14, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will host its sixth annual Big Orange Give, a 24-hour, online giving campaign. Big Orange Give encourages alumni and friends to join together to make philanthropic investments in the university with a goal of $2 million raised and 5,000 donors contributing in a single day. If Vol Nation raises $1.5 million, Charlie and Moll Anderson will contribute an additional $500,000 to assist in meeting the overall goal of $2 million.

The Haslam College of Business alumni and donors aim to raise $100,000 of this $2 million total. Two Haslam College of Business donors have generously offered a gift match to the College Fund for Haslam Business totaling $28,000 – doubling the impact of those gifts.

Steve Mangum, dean of the college and Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair, encourages all alumni and friends of the college to participate.

“Big Orange Give showcases the Volunteer spirit in a special way,” says Mangum. “Philanthropic investments fuel the resources and opportunities we are able to offer our students. Private support also impacts the value of our alumni’s degrees as it contributes to our rankings among other business schools.”

Since the program began in 2013, 16,460 gifts totaling over $5.5 million have been made through the Big Orange Give. We hope you join your fellow alumni and friends again this year to showcase the Volunteer spirit by making a gift of any size to the Haslam College of Business.
