Pedro Gonzalez joined the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business as director of career management for graduate and executive education on May 15.
Gonzalez came to UT from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, where he served as director of employer relations and worked with global companies in the consumer packaged goods and consulting industries.
“Pedro is directing all career management initiatives related to employers, alumni and students for the full-time MBA, specialty master’s and EMBA programs,” said Bruce Behn, associate dean for graduate and executive education. “He will seek to achieve ambitious placement and salary targets.”
Gonzalez said his vision for the graduate career management team is to strengthen and expand its portfolio through innovative program development and dynamic employer relations. He plans to implement a comprehensive career model that benefits the career growth and employment outcomes of students and alumni.
“I expect Haslam students to be as engaged as possible with all the services my team will provide,” Gonzalez said. “In return, I will hold myself and my team to high standards of operational excellence when working with our students and our employer partners.”
Prior to his positon at the University of South Carolina, Gonzalez worked as staffing manager and global university relations manager for Globalfoundries in Malta, New York, and as senior manager for recruitment with Siemens Management Consulting. His university career management experience includes roles as director of MS/MBA Admissions and Career Resources at the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and as the founding director of MBA career services at Drexel University.
