Haslam College of Business Creates Young Alumni Board

February 21, 2016

The Haslam College of Business is now accepting applications to its newly established young alumni board.

The inaugural class of the Haslam Young Alumni Board will consist of 15 alumni who are 35 years of age or younger.

“We look forward to seeing many of our best and brightest young alumni work together as advocates for the Haslam College of Business,” said Chip Bryant, Haslam’s executive director of development and alumni affairs.

The board will generate opportunities for recent graduates to support the college’s growth and the professional growth of Haslam students.

“Members of the Haslam Young Alumni Board will offer a unique perspective on how their education impacted their professional successes,” said Bryant. “By working together, they will provide mentorship opportunities for our students and insightful feedback for our faculty, all while building their own professional networks and gaining valuable insight into their alma mater.”

The board will aim to help students gain more exposure to industry and assist the college in recognizing the achievements of its young alumni. Board members also will serve as representatives of their alumni contemporaries to the college, providing insight into the needs of their peers.

The first board meeting will be September 2. The board will meet on campus twice a year, once in the fall and spring, with the fall meeting scheduled on a home football game weekend. Each board member is asked to serve a two-year term. Applications close on April 1.
