The supply chain management program in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is ranked fourth internationally among supply chain programs in research output, according to the newly released 2020 SCM Journal ListTM university rankings.
Stephen L. Mangum, dean of the college and Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair, said the ranking highlights the college’s continuing commitment to actionable research.
“Our goal is to help business advance by researching, identifying and promoting better practices worldwide,” he said. “Our supply chain program exemplifies how academic experts can collaborate with industry professionals to develop beneficial concepts for business innovation.”
The SCM Journal Listis based on leading journals that publish research in the analytical and empirical spheres. Faculty from more than 400 preeminent business schools worldwide have endorsed the SCM Journal List.
Haslam’s ranking was drawn from research published in the following top, empirically focused journals: Decision Sciences Journal, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Operations Management and Journal of Supply Chain Management.
“This ranking, coupled with the recent recognition that Haslam’s supply chain researchers are among the world’s best, reinforces our commitment to innovation and ground-breaking research that shapes and influences the practice of supply chain management,” Chad Autry, FedEx Endowed Professor of Supply Chain Management and associate editor of Journal of Supply Chain Management, said.
The annual SCM Journal Listrankings are based on the journals’ articles over the previous five years. The list editors reevaluate the journals every fours years to ensure that neither their focus nor quality have changed. The list was last revised in 2018.
