T. Boone Pickens Hosts Student Roundtable

T Boone PickensT. Boone Pickens, American business magnate, will participate in a roundtable with students from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He will be available for interviews before the event begins.

Media availability is set for 1:15-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the reading room of the Howard H. Baker Center Jr. Center for Public Policy, 1640 Cumberland Ave. Media are invited to view the roundtable at 1:30 p.m. in the Baker Center Toyota Auditorium.

Pickens is an American business magnate and financier. He founded Mesa Petroleum in 1956 and later became famous for acquiring other oil and gas companies including Gulf Oil and Phillips Petroleum. In 1997, he founded hedge fund BP (Boone Pickens) Capital Management, which he chairs today. Pickens has been honored for his leadership in oil and other types of energy production, including domestic renewable energy, and philanthropy including education, medical research and wildlife conservation.

The roundtable is being held for Haslam College of Business graduate and undergraduate students and is by invitation only.
