Wendy Tate was recently named co-editor in chief of the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. The journal targets both an academic and industry audience, focusing on applicable research in purchasing.
“The journal has an increasingly upward trajectory in its impact factor and our intent is to continue with that trajectory,” said Tate, who shares her editorship with Louise Knight, a senior lecturer at Aston University in Birmingham, England.
Tate and Knight are broadening the research base of the publication. “We have already appointed a number of new associate editors with expertise in purchasing, while retaining the existing associate editors. So, we have compiled a high quality team which will help our efforts.” They are also promoting international submissions.
Tate is an associate professor of supply chain management at the Haslam College of Business. The Journal of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management aligns squarely with her research focus on purchasing and integrated supply chains.
