Jan Williams, dean and professor emeritus of the UT College of Business Administration, received the prestigious John J. Fernandes Strategic Leadership Award, given by the Academy of Strategic and Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Allied Academies Spring 2014 International Conference. The award was created in 2012 to honor the extraordinary leadership of John Fernandes, CEO of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). The award is periodically presented to a dean, provost, president, or other senior academic leader who evidences great leadership; Williams was its second recipient.
“The University of Tennessee provided me with extraordinary opportunities to work with very talented people and to develop my own leadership skills,” said Williams. “This award has special meaning to me because it honors John Fernandes, who I had the privilege of working closely with during my time in leadership roles with AACSB.”
The Academy for Strategic and Entrepreneurial Leadership is an institutional member organization whose mission is to promote academic quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
