For the second consecutive year, the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville maintained its position at No. 25 among public colleges in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Undergraduate Business Programs rankings, also achieving a national raking of No. 40.
Multiple college departments performed strongly in the 2025 rankings. The supply chain management undergraduate program held the No. 3 public spot and No. 4 national spot for a fourth consecutive year. Haslam’s undergraduate program in accounting moved up five spots from 2023 to No. 18 among publics and four spots nationally to No. 42, while the economics undergraduate programs, which are housed in Haslam and the College of Arts & Sciences, came in at No. 45.
Excellence That Delivers
Lane Morris, associate dean of undergraduate studies and student affairs and John W. Fisher Professor of Innovative Learning, called the rankings a reflection of the college’s ongoing efforts to deliver a high-quality, experiential learning experience.
“Excellence attracts, and Haslam is seeing that through unprecedented growth in our undergraduate population,” Morris said. “We are proud of the supply chain management program, which has been recognized as an academic and industry leader again this year, as well as the rankings for accounting and economics. All our students know they will receive a top-notch education and an edge in the job market by coming to Haslam.”
Stephen L. Mangum, dean and Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair, credited Haslam’s faculty and the Office of Undergraduate Programs for offering students a wealth of academic and co-curricular opportunities that equip them to make immediate contributions in the workplace.
“The quality of the faculty and the staff who support Haslam students, coupled with an innovative, first-rate undergraduate programs office, gives Haslam students a full range of opportunities to sample and pursue,” Mangum said. “While the value of a business education is not conveyed by rankings alone, it is satisfying when the rankings affirm direct measures such as high-caliber employment outcomes.”
