With 1,052 students enrolled in fall of 2024, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business graduate programs achieved record enrollment for the second consecutive year. As a result of this continuous growth, the Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) ranked Haslam the largest graduate business school in the state in a recent list of Tennessee business colleges.
Participation in Haslam’s online MBA programs — Online MBA, M.S. in Cybersecurity and M.S. in Supply Chain Management Online — paced the overall enrollment growth, with 495 online students, an increase of 36 percent over 2023’s 312. The college’s 478 residential master’s students and 77 PhD students make up the rest of the enrollment.
Preparing Graduates to Make a Difference in Their Workplace
Haslam’s appeal as a graduate business school destination is a testament to the value of the education students receive and the various degree program formats from they can choose, according to Mary Goss, the college’s executive director of graduate business programs.
“Haslam is recognized for the quality of graduate education it delivers,” Goss says. “Combined with our online programs’ ease of access and broad availability, it makes Haslam a popular choice for students and student-professionals ready to put themselves at the forefront of their chosen fields.”
Amy Cathey, Haslam’s associate dean for graduate and executive education, agrees, explaining that Haslam draws high-potential students with its applied and relevant curricula, dedicated faculty, deep corporate connections and state-of-the-art technology and facilities.
“We are honored to be recognized as the largest graduate business school in Tennessee,” Cathey says. “Our goal is always to provide students with graduate programs that meet their needs, no matter their geographical location or current career path.”
In introducing the business colleges list, NBJ wrote that schools throughout the state were considered for inclusion, using information compiled from school representatives. However, not all schools replied, and only schools that provided information were listed.
