The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business welcomed 418 new master’s students this fall, bringing total graduate enrollment to 1,208 students.
Backgrounds That Strengthen Cohorts and Classrooms
Haslam’s total fall 2026 Graduate and Executive Education community includes 71 doctoral students, 580 residential master’s students and 557 online master’s students. Together, they represent 44 U.S. states and 16 countries, bringing a wide range of professional, academic and personal perspectives to the classroom. More than 19 percent of Haslam graduate students have already earned an advanced degree, while 10 percent are veterans or active-duty military members.
While Haslam draws a significant number of out-of-state graduate students, Tennessee residents comprise more than half of the new enrollees, highlighting the college’s commitment to offering advanced business education opportunities to Tennesseans. Whether from the Volunteer State or elsewhere, the incoming students arrive ready to apply their experience in accounting, supply chain, marketing, human resources, finance, healthcare, engineering, nonprofit leadership, higher education and military service to invigorate the classroom and enhance cohorts.
Business Education for Busy Students and Professionals
Haslam graduate programs offer students and professionals options ranging from a residential educational setting to hybrid and fully online programs. The college is known for providing educational experiences grounded in real-business situations, providing students the tools, aptitudes and connections to succeed in the evolving global business arena. The emphasis on current, relevant curriculum enables students and professionals to make a meaningful impact in their organizations and communities, all while promoting the Volunteer Spirit and spreading UT’s mission of service.
Amy Cathey, associate dean for graduate and executive education, said the size of the latest incoming classes underscores Haslam’s commitment to offering programs that fit students’ lives and schedules.
“Haslam provides graduate programs that are accessible to a wide variety of students, ranging from undergraduates who want to go directly into a graduate program to experienced working professionals looking to build their business acumen,” she said. “The growth of our master’s programs indicates students appreciate the latitude our multiple programs and formats give them to pursue graduate degrees on their own terms, no matter where they live or where they are in their careers. We look forward to working with all our graduate students as they take this important step in achieving their personal and professional goals.”
