Dave Clark is a transformative leader known for pioneering innovations that redefine customer experiences globally. As the former CEO of both Amazon’s Global Consumer Business and Flexport, he has a consistent track record in scaling operations and driving strategic growth.
Clark spent 23 years at Amazon where he managed a vast team of over 1.5 million people and oversaw more than $600 billion in gross merchandise sales. He launched and rapidly grew Amazon’s last-mile delivery efforts and developed a regional fulfillment model, which has since achieved record delivery speeds and saved the company billions. As SVP of Global Operations, he initiated the use of robotics in Amazon’s operations, substantially improving capacity utilization, and driving significant capital efficiencies. His leadership was crucial in the rollout of 1-Day Delivery and in developing generations of new leaders within the company.

After his time at Amazon, Clark led Flexport from 2022 to 2023, substantially improving its operational precision and expanding the size and quality of the software development teams. He led the strategic acquisition of Shopify Logistics and Deliver, broadening Flexport’s product offerings by introducing a pioneering self-service platform for small businesses to automate their supply chains.

Clark is an active member of the American Red Cross Board of Governors and is regarded as a global thought leader on logistics and supply chain being called upon by various government agencies to assist in analyzing logistics issues as they relate to national security and world affairs. He regularly speaks to industry organizations about advancing the global supply chain. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Auburn University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. In 2018, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Haslam’s Global Supply Chain Institute.
