Approximately 40,000 nonprofit organizations are located in Tennessee. Together, these entities represent a considerable share of the state economy. In this report, we provide a landscape analysis of nonprofits in Tennessee as well as estimates of their impact on the economy in the form of income, jobs, and tax revenues generated both directly and indirectly.
