Clark Williams

"Haslam has given me the best quality education that I could ask for because of our emphasis on group work and project-based learning."

Supply Chain Management - Student

Clark Williams began his college career as a music major at UT Martin before reconsidering his path in his third year and transferring to the supply chain management program in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Now, Williams is set to graduate in May 2020, and he has already accepted a position with Walmart’s headquarters as a supply chain analyst for the transportation team.

In his junior year, uncertain of his future, Williams felt he had to reevaluate his direction. Once he assessed his learning style and career aspirations, Williams decided Haslam would be a better fit because of the quality of learning provided. He says the academic regimen makes him proud to attend the college.

“Haslam has given me the best quality education that I could ask for because of our emphasis on group work and project-based learning,” he says. “My education has shown me my limits and how I need to organize myself in order to successfully achieve my goals.”

Williams credits his late father for his own tenacious spirit and passion for helping others. His embodiment of his father’s qualities and his work ethic helped Williams land his proudest accomplishment thus far – an all-expenses-paid, 10-day trip to Greece. Chosen by his national fraternity, Williams was one of 16 members selected out of hundreds to attend the Tragos Quest to Greece trip. The excursion is a leadership event in which top fraternity scholars trace the roots of fraternal organizations and explore the ancient Greek concepts that helped shape modern democracy.

The chance to travel, network and develop his leadership skills with the fraternity is one of Williams’ favorite experiences in college thus far. He is also thankful for the opportunities to create relationships with mentors who have had major positive influences on his life.
