Supply Chain Management

I spent 6 months at International Paper as the CTE Exports intern. During my time there, I had the daily task of using SAP software to plan all of the ocean shipments going from ports to overseas customers, along with sending out updates to carriers on late and upcoming shipments. I shadowed over 30 people in various departments at International Paper and got to meet with multiple senior level executives. In addition, I visited the Texarkana mill, Customer Commitment Center and the Russellville box plant.

I was able to grow so much while at my internship, and I credit the Haslam College of Business and its faculty and staff with preparing me for it. At UT, I have been taught what a perfect supply chain looks like, as well as how to critically think and solve problems that prevent a supply chain from operating successfully. This proved extremely valuable in my internship and now my internship is proving extremely valuable in the classroom.
