Caitlin Boone

Supply Chain Management, collateral International Business

Class of 2017

Hometown: Brentwood, TN
Internships: Fareshare: London, UK & J.Crew: Lynchburg, VA
Post Graduate Placement:  Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio

My favorite part about being in the GLS program is the fact that I am constantly surrounded by students who are inspired, motivated, and passionate.  Each person in our community brings such a unique perspective to life in and out of the classroom.  GLS has driven me to grow personally and professionally, inspired me to reach above and beyond any expectation I set for myself, and challenged me through our experience abroad, academic classes, and leadership seminars.  Every day I am reminded of and grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and community that GLS has brought into my college career.

Troy Nelson Galyon

Economics, concentration International Business

Class of 2017

Hometown: Maryville, TN
Internships: Grameen Bank: Dhaka, Bangladesh. UK Parliament: London, United Kingdom.
Post graduate Placement: Creator of Be{AT} Cancer: Plans to hike Appalachian Trail designed to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment

GLS. Three simple letters signifying a fairly simple concept: an honors program highlighting the importance of being a global focused, leadership minded, and scholar based student at its core. What is not simple about those three letters is the story behind them, the family represented in them. For me, GLS is the culmination of my college experience, the formation of the person I am today, and the relationships I have made with people around the world. This program has turned a cohort of twenty-six into a family. Not only are the opportunities presented to us such as a semester in London and hands-on leadership classes and workshops unlike any experiences a normal college student has, but we are also fortunate enough to have the full backing of the faculty in the Haslam College of Business to help us achieve our career and life goals after graduation. Three simple letters with a not so simple meaning for the students who have received so much from this incredible program.
