Patrick Godwin believes that physician leaders must also understand the business of healthcare.
“I have believed for a long time that, in order to be a valuable physician leader in a health system, you have to also understand the business side of health care. The Physician Executive MBA program taught me business acumen in addition to leadership and strategic thinking skills. I am now equipped to work on projects and to make decisions about our health system with a much broader perspective. I really enjoyed the flexible schedule and working on group projects with my PEMBA cohort. Being surrounded by a group of very accomplished physician leaders is one of the great strengths of the program.”
