The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will begin clearing ground this fall for a new business building. The 240,800-square-foot structure comes on the heels of nearly a decade of exponential growth in the business student population. The new, state-of-the-art facility will house classrooms, centers, labs, graduate and executive education and meeting and office spaces.

New Building
It is no secret that the past decade has been one of transformational growth in the Haslam College of Business. We could never have imagined the tremendous increase in the number of students we serve each day through our academic programs and centers of excellence. The support of our alumni, corporate partners and friends has been vital to the success of our students and faculty. For that, we thank you.
The current Haslam Business Building has served as a home away from home for tens of thousands. While accomplished students and faculty make up the heart of this college, the time has come to expand our physical footprint. This year, we begin the exciting process of building what will, upon completion, be the largest academic building on the University of Tennessee campus — one that will meet the needs of our growing student numbers and expanding academic programs.
Your support propels the college to continued success as one of the leading business schools in the nation. Our buildings allow us to recognize those who have provided essential funding for our initiatives. These spaces will commemorate the generosity of our donors while allowing us to provide our students with the latest in technology-enabled learning and research environments. Those recognitions also serve as visible, continuing reminders of the career and life success of Haslam College of Business alumni, corporate partners and friends.

THE IMPORTANCE OF INVOLVED DONORS
Investing in the Future
Alumni donors are appreciated college stakeholders and essential to making the new Haslam College of Business building a reality. Three alumni share why they chose to give, as well as their hopes for the college’s future.
Joe Fielden
President & CEO of J. A. Fielden
A longtime member of the Dean’s Advisory Council, Fielden had a front-row seat to Haslam’s evolution over the past decade. “Our student body has grown dramatically and continues to do so,” Fielden says. “The new building is an integral part of the college’s development. We need to have the finest facilities available to continue to attract and retain exceptional students and faculty.”
Jack Mills
CEO, JB&B Capital LLC
Mills believes the new business building will continue to build the college’s reputation throughout the region and nation. “We need to invest in winners, and the Haslam College of Business is a winner,” Mills says. “It yields great benefit to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and the local and state economies. I’m excited about this project because I think it’s a great investment and a critical one. I applaud the college and university for the initiative, and I think it’s important that alumni support it.”
Marty Brown
President & CEO, PYA
Brown’s memories of the Glocker Business Building play a role in why he chose to donate funds toward the new building. “When I remember my time as a University of Tennessee student, I remember Glocker,” he says. “A building is a physical connection to the college and a gathering place where students and faculty create memories.” Brown wants to ensure current and future Haslam students have adequate space to gather and collaborate. “Another building that reflects the value of the business degree is going to be integral in the long run—to the students and the university.”
