About the Event
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Haslam College of Business is proud to host the 2026 Daugherty Logistics Doctoral Symposium (DLDS). Since 2005, DLDS has served as a premier forum for doctoral students in logistics and supply chain management, connecting emerging scholars with leading academics and industry experts. Through workshops, panel discussions, presentations and tours, the symposium emphasizes research excellence, career development, networking and the exchange of ideas across the logistics and supply chain community.”
Previously hosted by UT, the symposium has also been held at leading institutions, including Auburn, Colorado State, Iowa State, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Pennsylvania State universities.

- Cost | No fee, but prior registration is required
- Attendees | Open to all faculty, with strong encouragement to bring Ph.D. students to help grow the next generation of logistics and supply chain scholars

Symposium Sessions
The symposium’s programming emphasizes research excellence, career development and the exchange of ideas across the logistics and supply chain community. Activities include:
- Panel discussions on research methodologies, teaching strategies, the publication process and career advice
- Networking opportunities that connect students with faculty from multiple institutions as well as industry professionals
- Research presentations where doctoral candidates share work-in-progress and receive feedback from peers and senior scholars
- Career development workshops covering topics such as navigating the academic job market, preparing for tenure and exploring industry pathways
Additional highlights include informal meet-and-greet sessions, opportunities to engage directly with leading journal editors and closing discussions on future directions in logistics research.

Who should attend
Any faculty members may attend and we encourage them to bring as many Ph.D. students as they are able. The more students, the better for the future of the field in terms of enhancing the quality of research, preparing the next generation of academics, and building a community of scholars in logistics and SCM.
Registration
There is no registration fee, but we require a headcount for planning purposes. Please register as soon as possible.
