IPSERA Mission Statement
The International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA) is a reference platform for academics and practitioners to exchange ideas, stimulate discussions and reflect on concepts, theories and educational forms and methods in an open and friendly atmosphere. The topics discussed and issues raised should one way or another improve the professional quality of those active in the field of purchasing and supply management.

Conference Theme
The IPSERA 2021 conference theme is procurement innovation. Digital transformation is opening new opportunities for the management of purchasing and supply chains, making “big data” available and offering analytical tools to manage them, but also allowing networking and sharing of innovative ideas. This enables both disruption of existing practices and technologies, as well as new ways to tackle sustainability challenges, e.g., through better transparency and control of supply chain risk. All of these developments offer gateways to improved efficiencies in procurement.

The conference will provide a forum for academics and practitioners to present research papers and discuss future developments in the field. In addition to the streams listed above, we are open to proposals for special tracks and also professional development workshops (PDWs). (Please submit your ideas to ipsera2020@ipsera.com or your abstract directly to the conference management system.) These can relate to the core theme of the conference and other “hot” issues in purchasing and supply management and will increase our understanding of new competitive challenges and help both for-profit and non-profit organizations to address them.
