Knoxville is located at the intersection of U.S. interstates I-75 and I-40 in beautiful East Tennessee, at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

For those flying to the conference, McGhee Tyson Airport is conveniently located 13 miles south of downtown Knoxville and the UT campus. Rental cars, taxis and ride-sharing services are available at the airport. Airfares are not sponsored or reimbursed by the Consortium. Therefore, we recommend that attendees reserve flexible flight tickets just in case the COVID-19 pandemic causes a last-minute event change or cancellation.

You may also choose to fly into one of the major airports in the region and rent a car there. Knoxville is approximately 180 miles (290 km) east of Nashville, 215 miles (345 km) northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, and 230 miles (370 km) northwest of Charlotte, North Carolina.
