Andrea Elliott is originally from Bogota, Colombia, but her passion to travel and study abroad brought her to the U.S. to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Prior to her arrival in Knoxville, she worked at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi for over a decade. Elliott held different positions during her tenure at Texas A&M, including academic advisor for the College of Sciences and Engineering and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences; retention specialist, academic success coach, program coordinator for the colleges’ First-Generation Program; and supervisor of their Academic Insight Mentoring program. Elliott also has taught in several universities (both in-person and online), including Texas A&M, University of Houston and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her passion is to help students have a successful college experience, and her goal is to return to work on her doctoral degree.
