The 2025-2026 academic year scholarship application will be available on January 1, 2025, and will need to be completed no later than March 1, 2025.
Three types of financial aid are available for students: scholarships, loans and part-time employment. According to the needs of the family and student, these can be offered individually or in combination. Visit One Stop Student Services for details and application information. UT provides a variety of scholarships for students. The criteria for the individual scholarships vary, and there are scholarships awarded for academic merit, financial need and more. We encourage you to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to see if you are eligible for many scholarships. UT’s federal school code is 003530.
Students with higher financial need may be eligible for grants, aid that does not need to be repaid.
The Student Aid Index (SAI) number generated by the FAFSA determines your eligibility for state and federal grants. Awards are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and some awards have limited funding.
Students and families may choose to utilize loans to help finance educational expenses not covered by additional financial aid. UT is committed to helping you identify the best and most responsible option and financing plan to support your goals.
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program is a financial aid opportunity for eligible full-time or part-time enrolled students.
FWS is part-time on- or off-campus employment that provides students with income and valuable work experience. As a FWS student, the exact amount you’ll receive is determined by your financial need and the number of hours you work. We encourage work related to your program of study or community service work whenever possible. Learn how to accept your FWS award here.
The Academic Common Market provides an opportunity for out-of-state students to enroll in specialized programs at Haslam while paying in-state tuition rates. Through this program, students can pursue unique academic pathways not available in their home states, making quality education more accessible and affordable.
First-year students must apply by the priority application deadline to be eligible for scholarships from the college. First-year students do not need to complete a college scholarship form.
Current/returning UT students and new transfer students must apply by submitting the appropriate scholarship form. Students do need not to apply for specific scholarships, as the scholarship committee will match qualified students with available awards.
