Biography

Haileab Hilafu is an associate professor of business analytics and statistics in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is also James & Connie Vavalides Faculty Fellow. He teaches business analytics and statistics courses in the undergraduate and MSBA programs. His current research interests are in causal inference and statistical/machine learning, with applications in healthcare and retail operations.

Hilafu’s work has been published in refereed journals such as the Journal of Royal Statistical Society-Series B (JRSSB), Journal of Computation and Graphical Statistics (JCGS), Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM), and the Production and Operations Management (POM).
