Robert Cobb is a lecturer in econometrics in the Department of Economics. He also works for Pilot Company (formerly Pilot Flying J), headquartered in Knoxville, as senior manager of advanced data analytics. In that role, his expertise centers around energy markets research, commercial strategy and analytics, and optimization.

He received a doctorate in business administration from Drexel University, an M.A. in economics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, an M.A. in applied economics and econometrics from Western Kentucky University and a B.S. in economics and computer information technology from Western Kentucky University.
