Amit Prasad is an internist by training, with over 20 years of clinical experience delivering ambulatory and inpatient care in settings ranging from a rural clinic to a tertiary medical center. Prasad’s experience includes enhancing care delivery processes, development of a comprehensive diabetes management program, an observation unit and an ambulatory safety huddle. Further, he has led statewide quality-improvement efforts and population health strategies. Prasad has extensive experience in managed care, both from a payer and provider perspective.
Over the course of his medical career, he has held several key leadership roles including a hospital chief medical officer, health plan chief medical officer, chief quality officer, director of medical outcomes, chair of the department of medicine and medical director of the diabetes treatment center. He also has served as a Baldrige examiner.
