Biography
Ben Huegel is a teaching assistant professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. He is a student-centered instructor who works to engage students with in-class experiences and challenges designed to provide growth opportunities in skill areas necessary to prepare them for successful careers in accounting. He also enjoys engaging with the local business community to explore the applicability of new technologies and the creation of opportunities for students.
Huegel’s research interests include issues in accounting education, human resource issues and training and development in public accounting, factors influencing student perceptions of the CPA exam and case writing. In addition to presenting at regional and national conferences, his articles have been published in Advances in Business Research, the Journal of Contemporary Business Issues, and the Journal of Critical Incidents.
Huegel has taught for 25 years, most recently at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, before joining Haslam.
