Student Support

The Department of Finance supports its students financially and through initiatives to help them accomplish their career goals. Each year, $60,000 become available in scholarships and awards, along with $40,000 in travel support for career development.

Annually, Haslam’s three finance student organizations host more than 15 finance professionals and sponsor three student group competitions, the Private Valuation Case Competition, the Cat Financial Case Competition, and the Wolf of Vol Street Competition.

Sponsored career development activities include: the Manners Matter Etiquette Dinner, the Meet the Money Fall Networking Event, the Finance Department Advisory Council Networking Event and Internship Night.

The University of Tennessee is recognized by the CFA Institute, an organization that certifies courses as beneficial to obtaining the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation.

The Masters Investment Learning Center delivers experiential learning through real-world investing.
