Lunch HUB

Alumni and Students in Conversation

Lunch HUB, a new lunch series from Haslam, connects business students with alumni guests for conversations about specific industries and career paths. Each monthly session focuses on a different professional field, allowing students to learn directly from alumni about real-world experiences and leadership.

Jared Worsham, assistant director of student engagement, says the purpose is to make career exploration more personal and relational, connecting academic learning with practical insights from alumni working in the field.

Recent speaker Todd Skelton (HCB, ’10, UT Law, ’14, MBA, ’14) says the program provides an opportunity for students to make industry connections and explore potential careers. “I was impressed by the group of bright, professional students and enjoyed answering thoughtful questions,” Skelton says. “It’s great that the college is offering this for students, and I found it a meaningful way to give back as an alum.”

Noah Watson, a junior in marketing, appreciates the opportunity to engage with professionals across industries. “Being able to ask questions and hear about all they’ve experienced has provided me with so much insight that I’ll carry with me past my time at Haslam.”

The series launched in fall 2025 with sessions covering consulting and finance, housing and development, law, and sports marketing. Attendance is capped at 18 students per session to foster meaningful discussion.
“It’s a space for honest conversations, where students can ask candid questions, hear about the twists and turns of different career paths, and begin building their professional network,” Worsham explains. “I hope students leave Lunch HUB with a clearer understanding of how their Haslam education connects to real-world opportunities.”
