In the Professional Sales Leadership Program (PSLP), University of Tennessee, Knoxville students of all majors gather to learn about the skills needed to succeed in a variety of sales settings. For those who are ready to put that knowledge into action, nothing can take the place of real-world sales practice.
That’s where the Rocky Top Golf Tournament comes in. This unique event, spearheaded by the PSLP and presented by Axle Logistics, is both a learning opportunity and a fundraiser to benefit the PSLP and the Department of Marketing at the university’s Haslam College of Business.
“The Rocky Top Golf Tournament is a great opportunity for our students to practice actual sales skills in a real-world setting, which provides experience they need for a future in professional selling,” says Jason Greenway, PSLP faculty advisor. “They are taking the sales concepts we teach in the classroom and putting them into action through generating leads, discovering the needs of a customer and pitching their product.”
