Alycia King joined UT’s Department of Accounting and Information Management as a lecturer in the summer of 2016. She received both her Bachelor of Science: Accounting (2006) and Masters of Accountancy: Taxation (2008) from the University of Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Tennessee. After practicing as a tax accountant at Crowe Horwath, Alycia transitioned to private industry eventually gaining the position of Chief Financial Officer of a management company in West Knoxville where she was able to obtain extensive experience in both financial and managerial accounting. Alycia has taught introductory financial courses as well as courses focused on cost accounting, managerial accounting and federal taxation. In her role as student engagement coordinator, she seeks to enrich student experiences through her support of student organizations, competitions and other student activities that connect students to their academic and professional communities. Alycia volunteers her time as a member of the Knoxville Advisory Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley and for Junior Achievement.
