Biography

Daniel A. Pienta is an associate professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Management, Reagan Professor in Business and a research fellow of the Neel Corporate Governance Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. His research interests include information security and privacy. Before entering academia, Pienta consulted some of the largest U.S. financial institutions on due diligence and cybersecurity. He serves as an associate editor for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and his research has appeared in numerous premier information systems journals, including Management Information Systems Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Journal of the Association for Information Systems.
