Biography

Daniel A. Pienta is an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Management and a research fellow of the Neel Corporate Governance Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research interests include information security and privacy. Before entering academia, he consulted some of the largest U.S. financial institutions on due diligence and cybersecurity. Pienta earned his Ph.D. from Clemson University, MBA from Cleveland State University and B.A. from The Ohio State University. He serves as an associate editor for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems. His research has appeared in numerous premier information systems journals, including Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Journal of the Association for Information Systems.
