David Ecklund has had dual careers in academia and industry. He had a 31-year career in industry with Caterpillar, Inc. where he served in a number of positions including product development, marketing, and distribution functions supporting Caterpillar’s construction machinery, engine and service parts businesses. He then went on to work with Haslam as a lecturer, the founding director of the Executive MBA in Global Supply Chain Management and a member of the Global Supply Chain Institute. Ecklund continues to serve as a faculty advisor, coach and mentor in the MBA and MSBA programs, in addition to his roles as member and chair of the MBA program Advisory Council.
Ecklund holds an undergraduate degree in industrial administration from the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University, an MBA from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and has completed Northwestern University’s Logistics and Distribution Executive Program and the Center for Creative Leadership European Executive Program.
