Biography

Jinyuan (Stephanie) Song is an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. She previously taught at George Mason University. 

Song is a strategy scholar whose research explores strategic management in complex, stakeholder-driven contexts, with a particular focus on how firms pursue sustainable development in rapidly evolving business environments shaped by the emergence of AI and the growing influence of activism through a stakeholder lens.  

Her research has been published or is forthcoming in the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Research Policy and the Handbook of AI and Strategy, and her scholarship has been recognized through a Best Paper Prize nomination at the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference and a Strategy Research Foundation grant supporting her research on artificial intelligence and strategy. 

Before joining academia, Song gained extensive professional experience in consulting firms and international organizations across diverse global settings.
