John Clayton

John Clayton is a lecturer for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business, teaching courses in project management and business strategy. He has expertise in baseline development and management, cost analysis, change control, scheduling and earned value.

Clayton received his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and his MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Before entering academia, he spent 38 years supporting corporate and governmental entities in a variety of project management and controls positions. He worked on projects of all sizes, including several with baselines in excess of $1 billion. He enjoys the field of project management and is passionate about connecting students with prospective employers to continue to grow the profession while helping students get started in their careers.
