Joseph Harrison received his Ph.D. in strategic management from Texas A&M University. His research focuses on social and behavioral aspects of strategic leaders and on using content analytic techniques to understand organizational phenomena. Through his research, he has co-developed multiple machine-learning applications to extract meaning from unstructured text and provide insights into executive personality, corporate governance, risk and performance. His work has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science and Strategic Management Journal, among others. Prior to receiving his Ph.D., Harrison worked as a consultant and technology lead with PwC in Washington, D.C., and as the assistant to the CFO for PartnerMD, a small concierge medical practice in Richmond, Virginia.
