Biography
Mike Faris is a tax partner in Deloitte’s real estate and global funds practice with more than 21 years of experience advising public REITs and global fund sponsors. He works with REITs across sectors including multifamily, retail, office, industrial, telecom and cold storage, providing guidance on REIT qualification, joint ventures, like-kind exchanges and equity compensation. Faris also advises open- and closed-end fund sponsors throughout the fund life cycle, from formation and structuring to transactions and wind-up. As Deloitte’s U.S. real estate tax technology leader, he has led the development of the firm’s proprietary REIT tax technologies.
