Dr. Daves received the Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at The University of Tennessee. His research, teaching, and consulting interests are in asset pricing, derivative securities, firm valuation, and corporate finance. He has published academic research papers in such journals as The Journal of Finance, Applied Financial Economics, The Financial Review, and The International Journal of Finance. He consults in the areas of business valuation, venture capital, supply chain analysis, executive compensation, financial management in not-for-profits, and has served as CFO of an internet startup company. He has coauthored two textbooks: Intermediate Financial Management, with Eugene Brigham, and Corporate Valuation: A Guide for Managers and Investors, with Michael Ehrhardt and Ronald Shrieves. Dr. Daves received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Physician’s Executive MBA program in 2012 and 2011. He is Director of the Global Leadership Scholars Program in the College of Business Administration.
