Scott Roark
Professor Roark teaches real estate and finance courses and has joined the Haslam College of Business to help develop a real estate program. Prior to transitioning to academia in 2006, Scott worked in the commercial real estate industry within asset management, portfolio management and acquisitions.
He has been part of the faculty at Boise State University and Colorado State University and was Director of the Everitt Real Estate Center at CSU. Professor Roark holds a BBA in Accounting and an MBA from Texas A&M University and a PhD in Finance from the University of Connecticut.
Born and raised in Texas, Scott has lived in Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho and Italy (for a semester) prior to coming to Knoxville in the fall of 2020. He lives with his wife and four children and spends his spare time playing board games, playing racket sports and watching his children pursue their athletic interests (baseball, softball and cross country).
