Biography

Sean Harrington serves as the assistant director of digital marketing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Haslam College of Business. Within the college’s Office of Marketing and Public Relations, he leads initiatives to enhance web presence, orchestrate impactful marketing campaigns and elevate the profile of Haslam’s departments and programs. As an advocate for website accessibility, he ensures that all digital platforms under his purview cater to myriad user needs, embodying accessible content and user-friendliness.

Prior to joining Haslam, Harrington was the director of development at Designweb, where he collaborated with an impressive portfolio of clients, including Walmart, U.S. Air Force, Saudi Aramco, Disney/ESPN, UPS, Darden Group, Boy Scouts, several city governments and 300+ other organizations and businesses. Notably, in 2017, he worked to create geo-mapped traffic monitoring in partnership with Google’s Waze. While his strengths lie in data and programming, his prowess in marketing earned him the title of Best Marketer in both 2017 and 2018 from LEO. Furthermore, Harrington’s contributions were acknowledged with the 2020 Corporate Achievement Award by the American Advertising Federation. More recently, he earned the Community Building Award from Haslam in 2025, a Webby honorable mention and three bronze Telly awards for his work with the Office Hours: Business Edition podcast.
